S O A R

Updated: Jan 4, 2020

SOAR is a method you can use to help you slow down your reading of scriptures and focus on a specific scripture that is being impressed on your heart. Using SOAR opens up your heart to be more sensitive to the nudges of the Holy Spirit to capture your attention on a scripture and message He wants you to see. Take time to hear what He is saying to you. SOAR with HIM.

S= Scripture: As you are reading in a scripture passage listen to the impression of your heart what to stop and focus on. One specific scripture or thought in the passage.

O= Observations: Ask some question? Here are some questions to help you get started.

1. What is important about this scripture to me?

2. What is the setting and context of this scripture?

3. Am I reminded of other scriptures that relate to this scripture or truth?

A= Application: What am I learning?

Basically how will I apply the lesson that I have learned from this scripture?

Is there something I need to do or stop doing?

Is there a point of dedication I need to make?

Is there something I need to repent of?

R= Response: This comes from your heart. Possible responses are:

A prayer made

A thanksgiving given

A declaration made

Take time to soak in God's Word and SOAR to new heights in HIM!
